Petra Tyche is the name of a Clawdite performer roleplayed by Rob Blumenauer in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire. The character was created specifically for roleplaying scenarios.
Backstory
Petra was born and orphaned at a very young age, being taken into an orphanage on Coruscant for much of her early life. She was adopted at 4 years old by the wealthy Tyche family, remaining on Coruscant and being raised as their daughter. Petra was encouraged by her step-parents to look human, like them, resulting in an insistence on taking a human form over her Clawdite form. As a youth, Petra took an interest in the performing arts and trained to become a dancer and singer. For 8 years, she attended a performing arts academy on Alderaan. At the conclusion of her schooling, Petra returned to Coruscant and began a career in opera and dance.
Petra found success in her performing career, earning roles in acclaimed shows and live performances. Her ability to radically change her appearance became an advantage that gave her an edge over other performers. She learned to socialize and control a room, giving her advantages in human interaction. The world of the performing arts also encouraged Petra to experiment with her appearance. She took on the forms of many species, though always seeming to settle on a human man or woman, both of similar appearance.
As time passed, Petra began a gradual acclimation to the seedier side of Coruscant. She began using her abilities to smuggle and deceive her way around problems and earned a reputation as a playgirl. Equal parts charming and deceptive, she grew accustomed to meddling in the affairs of Black Sun and Teemo the Hutt.
Petra's luck ran out when an attempted prank ended in catastrophe, resulting in the public humiliation and death of Teemo's nephew. Petra's concerns over her own implication in his death were confirmed when she arrived home one night to find her apartment raided and her possessions destroyed. Fearing for her life, she fled Coruscant with what money she had with her and the clothes on her back; venturing into wild space hoping to lose Teemo's interest or fall out of his bad graces.
