On October 29, 2023, a new side world was started, multiplayer hardcore with the goal of beating the game, and with the long term goal of collecting one of every item in the game. Two attempts were made that evening, and changes were put in place for a third attempt on October 30th, with a less strict punishment for death. This world persisted.
First Attempts
Two hardcore attempts were made on October 29th, 2023 in true hardcore on hard difficulty. On the first attempt BestTux, Burrowdizzy, Immabed, The_AJAXX, and TheTaciturn found a village and began caving, but Best fell into a cave and died, and then Burrowdizzy was shot by a skeleton on a ledge, leading to an immediate loss of motivation and subsequent death of everyone else. Best and TheTaciturn did not join the second attempt. The others found a mushroom island and began caving, but after collecting some good gear, Immabed was blown up by a creeper when his shield malfunctioned, the others lost motivation and were ultimately killed in a particularly open and deadly cave.
Semi-Hardcore Attempt
After failing miserably with true hardcore, the third attempt used a datapack that removes max hearts permanently on death, rather than death being permanent.
Immabed, The_AJAXX, Burrowdizzy, TheTaciturn, SapphireFeather, and Krisderpy played on the world.
