The Wellstowne Frontier world was a bit of a transition world while waiting for the 1.0 release of Minecraft. Following the addition of creative mode in Minecraft Beta 1.8 only a couple weeks after the world was started, free for all creative mode building was given to the members, as server mods expected the 1.0 release to be just around the corner, which would cause a new Wellstowne world, New Wellstowne to be started.
