After the decline in activity on the New Wellstowne world, partly due to the oppressive rules enforced on that world, Pixelated Pickaxe needed a fresh start. With the addition of jungles a few months prior, the decision was made to start in a jungle biome, which was promptly deforested and flattened to make way for the sprawling city that is the world's namesake. Although other worlds existed for longer, Metropolis holds the record for most active players for the longest period of time, nearly a full year of fairly consistent activity from at least a handful of members.
Finale
As some members became inactive and activity was dying down, a new application drive was started to get new members. To commemorate the acceptance of these members and the end of the Metropolis world, a grand finale was planned with welcome ceremony, spleef, and massive invasion of the city center by monsters of all kind.
