Caseus Nova
Caseus Nova is the main island and world spawn point on the Minecraft world Wellstowne Boogaloo, the 13th iteration of Wellstowne. This island can actually be considered three or four islands, excluding the small islands dotted around it's exterior, as it is split by several rivers, and is nominally attached to the so called Tony Island, which may or may not be a part of Caseus Nova. There are several main towns on Caseus Nova, including New Tonyville, Canal Town, and The Strip. There are also major installations including BURRCO Campus, BW Industries Plaza, SpoiledBIO's tree house, and BestTux's base. TheSwiftClick is also headquartered on Tony Island, and so may be considered to reside on Caseus Nova.
Etymology
The name stems from the 11th iteration of Wellstowne, Wellstowne Rebirth, where an island was named Caseus, after the latin word for cheese. That island was intended to be a renaissance for some of the original Pixelated Pickaxe members, but never saw much activity.
Following the existing naming conventions of Boogaloo, namely, the villager village being called New Tonyville as an homage to the original Tonyville on New Wellstowne, the latin word nova, meaning new, and used in names such as Nova Scotia, was added to the name Caseus. The proper grammatical structure should be Nova Caseus, but for the purpose of aural pleasure, some creative liberty was applied in switching the order to Caseus Nova, which also evokes terms like Supernova whose grandeur should not be understated.
Note that this means the literal translation for Caseus Nova is thus Cheese New.
Lore
The island of Caseus Nova is ancient, and was long ago home to some unkown inhabitants who built the still standing tower which now leans in New Tonyville. Some time later, but still long ago, some group of scholars or mystics took residence nearby, and the remnants of their ancient library form the foundation of the New Tonyville library, and the extant texts the basis of the study of the current scholars. Some five centuries or so ago, colonists from the continents arrived on Caseus Nova and set up fishing villages, trading fish for goods with merchants who visited periodically. Slowly the fishing villages unified at the location of modern day New Tonyville, as the inhabitants of the island began to require more industry and as visiting merchant vessels became scarce. At the same time, scholars from the continents took up residence in the remnants of the library, and rarely left, except to trade for food with a seemingly inexhaustible wealth.
Eventually New Tonyville was established as a proper town, but began to suffer raids from unknown pillagers. A lordship was established, walls were built, and the shanties of previous generations were replaced by sturdy buildings of stone and wood. And so it was for many generations. After the town had become very well established, and had built itself up around the ever expanding library and its mysterious scholars, the scholars activated some kind of beacon or energy beam. Within a century, distant foreigners arrived, and many believed the beacon was the reason, though many other strange occurrences, including an increasing number of frightening monsters, left the circumstances unclear. These foreigners were not only rich, but immensely powerful, and soon established themselves as the new lordship. Two foreigners in particular took a direct interest in New Tonyville and its residents, Burrowdizzy and Immabed. Many others soon began arriving, and the monster infested and unprotected wilds of the rest of Caseus Nova began to be developed. Whole towns were developed, and the villagers of New Tonyville were soon far from the dominant civilization on the island.
The foreigners did not forget them though, as they stimulated economic growth and also protected the town from monsters and raids. Indeed, the foreigners took a great interest in the scholars, and it seems a good deal of information was shared both ways, including the reactivation of the beacon in the library.
